To back up our claim to offer the best service around, we are members of The Carpet Foundation and abide by their Consumer Code of Practice, which is approved by the Office of Fare Trading. This Consumer Code incorporates the highest retail selling standards and gives consumers the reassurance they deserve when purchasing carpets.

PAYMENT
All goods are to be paid for at the time of ordering. The fitting or laying of flooring prior to receipt of payment can only be carried out at the sole discretion of the Management.

DELIVERY AND FITTING
While every conceivable effort is made to deliver or fit carpets on a particular time or date, Stainforth Carpet Centre will not be liable for lost time or any consequential loss if goods are not delivered or fitted on the required date. Fitting appointment times are approximate. All areas must be cleared of furniture. All breakables must be removed. Floor covering will be laid with seams and/or joins as the fitter determines.

FITTING GUARANTEE
A guarantee of twelve months is given on fitting, providing that the fitting arrangements outlined above have been adhered to.

MATCHING
We pride ourselves in our expertise in estimations, but while every effort is made to ensure satisfaction, we cannot guarantee exact colour or pattern matching on carpets of different widths due to manufacturing tolerances. Also, due to dyeing techniques, any carpet supplied cannot be guaranteed to perfectly match the sample on display.

UNDERFLOOR PIPES AND CABLES
We do not accept liability for damage to underfloor pipes and wiring.

DOORS
Easing of doors is the customer’s responsibility.

CARPET APPEARANCE RETENTION
It must be made clear that NO carpet whether it be man-made or of natural fibres will keep its new appearance indefinitely. Flattening of the pile is often the most common cause for concern. However, it must be pointed out that no manufacturer will give any guarantee against this, but we suggest that regular cleaning by a reputable company will help to prolong the life and looks of your carpet.

CANCELLATIONS
Any carpet cut to order or specially ordered will be subject to a 20% handling charge upon cancellation of the Contract.

CARPETS AWAITING CUSTOMERS INSTRUCTIONS (HOLDING UNTIL REQUIRED)
Carpets will be held free of charge, but after 30 days we will relinquish responsibility for creases or crush marks which can occur during extended periods of storage.

PILE CARPETS
All cut pile carpets are prone to a condition known as “shading”, i.e. to show light and dark patches. This is due to uneven pressing of the surface by treading. This tendency is inherent in all pile fabrics and therefore cannot be regarded as a compliant.

GUARANTEE CONDITIONS
A settling period of at least 14 days must be allowed before any fitting adjustments can be made. Due to manufacture techniques unevenness and pressure marks apparent when carpet is first fitted often disappear. Where this is not the case after the settling period we will be happy to deal promptly with any problems you have.

CUSTOMERS OWN SIZES
Stainforth Carpet Centre accepts no responsibility for the accuracy of sizes provided by the customer.

RETURNED CHEQUES
A charge of £10 will be levied upon all returned cheques.

VINYLS AND CUSHION FLOORS
Vinyls and Cushion floors can only be guaranteed if laid on smooth concrete or smooth wooden floors, or on surfaces prepared by ourselves.
